Builder/Client: Rogers / Uniting
Sector: Aged Care Facility
PSB Air is delivering a major mechanical services upgrade at Uniting Elanora, a multi-level aged care facility in Shellharbour. The project involves full replacement of HVAC systems across resident accommodation and common areas, delivered within a live operational environment.
This project presented several key challenges, including:
PSB Air is delivering a staged mechanical solution that includes:
PSB Air is delivering a staged design-and-construct solution, carefully coordinated around resident wellbeing and facility operations.
Through strong on-site coordination and planning, PSB Air optimised the installation sequence and reduced the number of required crane lifts, delivering cost savings to the project without compromising programme or quality.
The project is on track to deliver:
PSB Air delivers staged mechanical solutions for aged care environments where resident comfort, compliance, and live-site coordination are critical. If you are planning a refurbishment, HVAC replacement, or broader commercial air conditioning systems upgrade, speak with our team about a practical solution tailored to your facility.
Live aged care projects require mechanical upgrades to be delivered while residents and staff continue using the facility. At Uniting Elanora, this meant staging works across multiple floors and operational zones while maintaining comfort, minimising disruption, and coordinating around daily operations.
The project includes new VRF air conditioning systems, replacement air conditioning across bedrooms and common areas, upgraded refrigeration pipework, rooftop condenser installation, and ductwork cleaning. These works are designed to improve comfort, air quality, and long-term mechanical performance across the facility.
To help maintain comfort throughout construction, PSB Air is delivering the works in stages and using temporary portable air conditioning where needed. This approach supports continuity within the live facility while major system replacements are underway.
A staged approach helps ensure mechanical upgrades can be completed safely and efficiently without unnecessary disruption to residents, staff, or operations. On a project like Uniting Elanora, staged delivery is essential for coordinating installation, managing access, and maintaining compliance in a sensitive live environment.
